    Doric

Doric buildings are least decorated. They have smile caps on top of the columns.Doric buildings were built in stone.

    Ionic

  3. Ancient Greek architecture is not only well known for its temples, but also for the open-air theatres and the open public market squares. Around market squares there were often buildings fronted with an open wall of columns.

The architectural styles found in these buildings, are set on the chosen method of structure and decoration that they liked to use. Their special features can be seen on their buildings that have survived.
The Greeks developed three architectural styles, called orders, each with their own distinctive proportions and detailing. The Greek orders are: Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian.

The Doric style is rather sturdy and its top (the capital), is plain. This style was used in mainland Greece and the colonies in southern Italy and Sicily.
The Ionic style is thinner and more elegant. Its capital is decorated with a scroll-like design (a volute). This style was found in eastern Greece and the islands.

The Corinthian style is seldom used in the Greek world, but often seen on Roman temples. Its capital is very elaborate and decorated with acanthus leaves.

  4. Greek Architecture
Ancient Greeks built amazing architectures including temples, theatres and Stadiums.
Temples – The Parthenon is the most famous temple that the Greeks built. The temple was made of hundreds of columns and made in a rectangle shape, however the architects positioned the columns at a slight angle inwards so from afar the buildings looked straight. The roof on the temples was raised along a central ridge with a slope of 15 degrees which was constructed from wooden beams that were covered by marble tiles.
Theatres – Evidence of theatres being built by the ancient Greeks goes back to the 6th century BCE. The buildings were open air and were formed together as a semi-circle (which was the stage for the play) and then steps around the stage which were used as seating for the audience. They were usually built on a hill so the slope would allow people to sit.
Stadiums – Greeks created stadiums which were mainly constructed near natural embankments with rows of stone to be used as running tracks, more recent structures included marble steps for seating and spaces in between for easy access.

Numerous people in the Ancient Greek time period built many buildings , temples , stadiums, houses and many more .But one of the temples that I found was called the TAXILA located near the area of Kashmir Pakistan . More than 2600 years age more than 10500 persons from all over the world went to TAXILA for higher studies . People who went there learnt loads of stuff, like for example grammar, philosophy, music, dancing, agriculture and several more . Taxila also use to be called TAKSHASHILA, but sometimes people use the world TAXILA to shorten it down . If you wanted to get into the TAXILA university, the people who decided wether or not you could learn at the school would look at your merits (marks) from your previous school . If you were lucky enough to get into the school, when you had finished your studies there you would be so intelligent probably as intelligent as a scholar. Whoever got into the university could chose what subject they decided to study on. As we have sometimes in school decrypted codes and we did in I.C.T. on the BLACKCHAMBER WEBSITE, the people of that time also decrypted codes like us too . How fun . ........... THE END I HOPE YOU ENJOYED !!!
