Romans - Topic Homework


Our topic for the last half term is the Romans. Can you
 research some of the achievements that the Romans made
through buildings? Please post your comment on your class

  1. Romans were for their advancement in architecture and engineering.The Roman Architecture introduced lots of new methods of architecture.With these methods the Romans were able to construct bigger temples and buildings than ever before.

    Roman building acheivements

    The Roman building achievements are Fishbourne roman palace,Rome,the famous Roman Colosseum,Hadrin’s wall,Antonine wall,Temple of apollo and Pantheon.

  3. Many ancient Roman structures like the pantheon, the colosseum and the Roman form are still standing today thanks to the Roman concrete and cement. The Romans first began building with concrete over 2100 years ago and used it throughout the apueducts and buildings to bridges monuments. Roman concrete was weaker than the modern , but it has proved remarkably thanks to its unique recipe.

  5. The Romans built beautiful buildings like The Pantheon, the Colosseum and the Arch of Titus.

    - The Pantheon is a building built in Rome, Italy in 118 AD. Its a well proctected temple dedicated to all the gods.

    - The building of the Colosseum began in 72 AD and was completed in 80 AD. It is the largest Ampitheatre ever built and is considered as one of the greatest works of architecture.

    - The Arch of Titus was built in 82 AD by the Roman Emperor Damiltian shortly after the death of his brother Titus to honour his victories.
