  3. I think that the greatest discovery of the Iron Age is ‘Metal’ such as iron, copper, gold and bronze because these days we are dependent on metallic equipment in our day to day life. Also if the Iron Age hadn't discovered metal then there wouldn't be anything like electricity supplied in our homes.

Iron made life easier those days, when living to age 45 was a challenge. By that time, Europe had settled into small village life, toiling the soil with bronze and stone tools. Iron farming tools, such as sickle and plough tips, made process more efficient and allowed farmers to exploit tougher soils, try new crops and have more time for other activities.

During the industrial revolution iron gained more importance in people’s lifestyle and iron was improved in quality. Mostly all machines are made of iron or other metals. The prominence of machines is critical these days because almost everything people use is made by machines. For example everyday utensils, clothes and some food is made from machines like bread, cake, spaghetti or even chocolate. Machines also help in constructing houses, railway tracks, bridges and roads.

Metal is commonly used in manufacturing gadgets like tablets, phones and computers, if the Iron Age hadn't found metal then I wouldn't have been able to type this information down!
We should be thankful to the Iron Age for discovering metal.

  5. Iron Age Achievements....

I think Iron Age’s greatest achievements are:
 Creating fire with fire stones, tinder and rubbing stones
 Making wheels step by step starting off with “The Roller” then “The Sledge” then “A Sledge on Rollers then “TWO WHEELS WITH A FIXED AXLE SPINNING BETWEEN PEGS” then "TWO WHEELS WITH AN AXLE, ATTACHED WITH BEARINGS.”
 If they didn't create wheels we wouldn't have watches, clocks, games, toys, machines, vehicles and engines.

  6. I think one of the Iron Age's greatest achievements are making solid Iron because it must have been quite difficult to make it, especially because they were using the Iron to survive. One of their other greatest achievements were when they made the Iron and then if they made a mistake on what they were making they could get rid of the mistake.

  10. I think one of the Iron Ages greatest achievements are making metal and moulding it into different shapes as they also learnt how to use the tools form the Stone Age period. They could have used items such as stone for making fire to melt down the strong metal . If the Iron Age did not learn how to make metal, then we would not be able to have as many items as we today, for example; ovens, cookers, refrigerators , tins, cans, cars, batteries, toolboxes E.T.C.. In modern days we rely a lot on metal and the people of the Iron Age time period probably did too.

  11. I think the Iron Age greatest achievements are metal (copper, iron gold, silver, bronze, titanium, steel, brass and aluminium). 750 BC to 12 BC, the Celts were the most powerful people in central and northern Europe. There were many groups (tribes) of Celts, speaking a vaguely common language.
The word Celt comes from the Greek word, Keltoi, which means barbarians and is properly pronounced as "Kelt". No-one called the people living in Britain during the Iron Age, Celts until the eighteenth century.

Metal was used for the following:
    1) Blades and weapons for an undefeatable army
    2) Money
    3) Jewellery
    EXTRA INFORMATION
Living till 45 was hard but as time passed we started living longer.
The Iron Age lasted for a longer period.
Archaeologists have studied more than 100 British Iron Age sites.
Some famous Iron Age hill forts in Britain are Maiden Castle, Cadbury Castle, Hod Hill and Danebury.
The population of Britain in the Iron Age has been estimated to be between 2 and 4 million. From around
The Iron Age Celts lived here 750 years before Jesus was born.
The Iron Age ended in AD43 (43 years after Jesus was born) when the Romans invaded Britain.
The period of time in Britain immediately before the Roman period is known as the Iron Age.
The name 'Iron Age' comes from the discovery of a new metal called iron.
The Celts found out how to make iron tools and weapons.
Before the Iron Age the only metal used in Britain to make tools was bronze, which is an alloy of copper and tin (hence the Bronze Age).
The Celts lived across most of Europe during the Iron Age.

  13. One of the most important and time-saving inventions of the Iron Age was the rotatory quern which was used for grinding grain to make flour. The grain was placed between two circular stones and the top stone was turned or rotated using a handle.

I believe that this was the greatest achievment as it helped people make food and feed their families.

  14. I think the greatest achievement of The Iron Age was when they founded Iron because in the the period before the Iron age all of the tools and weapons they used were made of nothing but stone.Iron is so helpful we have still used it to this very day.
